The
Kakinada Town is located at sea coast of Bay of Bengal.
Kakinada Town is the District Head uarter of East Godavary
District. |

Government
I.T.I., Kakinada is located opposit to Engineering college
and by the side of Rangaraya Medical Colege, Kakinada. It
is centraly located in the Kakinada Town on the Pithapuram
road. Very near to Railway Station and to APSRTC Bus station.
There are number of city buses through Government I.T.I.,
Kakinada. |

Industrial
Training Institute at Kakinada was originally establised
by the Government of India in the Military barracks on rental
basis during 1947.
|
|
During
2nd world war a training centre was opened by the Ministry
of Defence for giving training to the Ex-servicemen by naming
it as V.T.C. From 1-8-50 it was kept open for civilians
also for training. The administration of the Industrial
Training Institute was transferred to the State Government
during 1956. Till 1955 it is under the control of the Central
Govrnment under the D.G.E.T. New Delhi. |

During
1954 the present I.T.I., site was acquired and seperate
buildings were constructed to the I.T.I., The buildings
were occupied during 1961-62. During the period 1947 to
1964 the government I.T.I., is under the control of the
Department of Technical Education. In 1964 all the Government
I.T.Is are seperated and came into the supervisin and Administrative
Control of the Department of Employment and Training. |
| The present I.T.I is situated
in 63416.49 Sq.Mtr. of land, facing to Pithapuram road. Well planned layout of workshops,
within an excellent space, and beautiful garden having pleasant atmosphere.

Cultural
importance of the Town : Kakinada
Town is located on theedge of the Bay of Bengal and having
a decent beach. It is having a Decdent Port. It is famour
for export of coir and coconut. Cultural Programmes will
be conducted in the SURYAKALAMANDIR by the Saraswathi Gana
Sabha which was established during 1904. There is a HOPE
ISLAND in the sea which is 3 K.M. distance from the port.
Because it is natural island, it is protecting the city
from the cyclonic damage. Many more intellecturls and poets
were lived and enriched the glory of Kakinada. During the
Independence there is a huge historical meeting was arranged
by Mahatma Gandhi and the presently such historical place
is named as Gandhi Park. Md. Jinna was also visited this
place during that time.

It is having Hostel facilities to the trainees of this institute
